The fall salmon run is delivering heavy hookups. The Sacramento River and Feather River are seeing fresh pushes of Kings moving up into the system. Early morning drifts with cured roe or bouncing large spinners through the deeper runs is key.

General rifle season is in full swing for the D-Zones. Deer movement is picking up with dropping temps. Meanwhile in the Valley, tractors are running and water is hitting the rice fields. Get those duck blinds brushed!

It’s officially wood stove season in the high country. If you are setting up an off-grid elk or deer camp, the nights are getting crisp. Check the seals on your stove jack and make sure your solar banks are holding a charge.
